Taking cue from PM Narendra Modi who sold tea before becoming an astute politician, another individual who used to sell tea before becoming a real estate magnate has now decided to become a politician. Dr P Anil Kumar has filed his nomination papers from the Bommanahalli assembly constituency and will take on established BJP MLA Satish Reddy. But Anil is ready for the battle. He told India Today that people in this constituency want a change and that he "is the change". "People are telling me that they want a good candidate and since Bommanahalli wants a change, I have decided to take this plunge," Anil Kumar told India Today. Anil Kumar believes people are fed up with both the BJP and the Congress and that he will surely win. He is disappointed that educated people do not come out and vote in large numbers. There are many IT parks and garment industries in the area and Anil hopes all those who work in these industries will vote for him to bring about proper development. Anil's life is the story of rags to riches and today, he is the richest independent candidate and also owns a fleet of cars that includes imported brands. He told India Today that his mother used to work as a house help to look after her three children and there have been times when she would get four idlis to eat but would first feed him and his siblings. Anil came to Bengaluru from Kerala in 1985 when he was just 11. He was just in the third grade then. From selling mangoes, he started selling tea in companies during the IT boom in the 90s. It was here that the managed to save money to buy a piece of land.
About Me
Dr. P AnilKumar. Also known as Malayalee Anil is the Chairman and Managing Director of MJ infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore. He was born in a small village called Kattakada, Amachal in Trivandrum District Kerala.
After retirement of Mr. Anilkumar’s father from military the family faced huge financial crisis which forced Anil to stop his studies at the age of 7. The young determined Anil started supporting his family financially by as a bricks loading labour in the age of 7 with a daily wage of Rs 2 for 100 bricks. This experience developed a determining thought in young Anil’s mind for the urge to make more money and his long journey to success started right from there. At age of 9 due to severe financial crisis he set off to Mumbai and retuned back to Kerala after 2 years of hard work.
